Posted by Honey Here is a tutorial a long time coming — I have been asked for a tutorial for basic quilling techniques and shapes. I will break this into a couple posts, with some more advanced shapes in the second part.
About Us History of Quilling Quilling is the craft of arranging, curling and bending small strips of paper to create beautiful and detailed artwork. It is believed that the art of paper quilling began over five hundred years ago when a feather quill was used to roll the strips of paper.
While the origins or quilling are somewhat unknown, history does show us that quilling became popular in Europe in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. Later, quilling spread to the American colonies where its popularity continued to grow.
However, based on the lack of historical samples, quilling seems to have lost its popularity Paper quilling history the late 's. Today, quilling seems to have come to life again with the growing movement to preserve and display photographs.
